1. Simple Present Tense

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian atau aktivitas yang terjadi dimasa sekarang, atau terjadi sehari hari.

Rumus:

VERBAL		NOMINAL
S + V1 + e/es + O	(+)	S + to be + ANA
She eats ice cream		They are happy
S + do/does + not + V1 + O	(-)	S + to be + not + ANA
She does not eat ice cream		They are not happy
do/does + S + V1 + O?	(?)	To be + S + ANA?
Does she eat ice cream?		Are they happy?

Keterangan:

I , You, We, They = do

She, He, It            = does

ANA = Adjective, Noun, Adverb

Aturan penambahan s/es

a.       s/es digunakan pada subject he,she it

b.       Verb yang berakhiran “ss, sh, ch, x, z, o” à +es

Misalnya Whiches, Kisses

c.       Verb yang berakhiran ”y” à maka y diganti menjadi i +es

Misalnya Study > Studies

2. Present Continuous Tense

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian/aktivitas yang sedang terjadi/berlangsung dimasa sekarang

Rumus:

VERBAL		NOMINAL (sama dengan bentuk Simple present)
S + to be + V-ing + O	(+)	S + to be + ANA
I am reading newspaper		You are clever student
S + to be + not + V-ing + O	(-)	S + to be + not + ANA
I am not reading newspaper		You are not clever student
To be + S + V-ing + O?	(?)	To be + S + ANA?
Am I reading newspaper?		Are you  clever student?
